Canana celebrates their second anniversary l 22 December 2007
Making movies in Mexico is not an easy job, for that reason Gael Garcia, Diego Luna and Pablo Cruz full of happiness celebrated the second anniversary of their production-distribution company Canana. “This second year, like every year, has been a renovation process; lika a journey. A voyage of what we've done and what we want to do; always questioning and looking for new things; trying to, especially, support new voices, new directors and low budget movies. “Ambulante has been incredible, and Canana is about to release several films; it makes me feel so proud to turn the dream I had when I was young into a reality, and that is perhaps the means, so other kid's dreams become a reality,” said Gael. Accompanied by their work team, the actors of Y Tu Mama También celebrated Thursday night at the Pasaje América bar, located in  the center of Mexico City. They have managed to produce films such as Cochochi, Deficit, El Violín, and the documentary JC Chávez. First to arrive, at 11:15 PM, was Diego, who with approximately 200 guests, waited till after midnight for his other two Canana associates to come. “I am very glad to see that we still have desire left to celebrate, and also very excited, because this is nothing more than the beginning. I feel that finally we have armed a family that is going to last us for many years,” commented the Night Buffalo actor. And although the balance of the second anniversary is good, it has been a big help that two of the founders are actors known largely around the world. Un periplo por lo que hemos hecho y lo que queremos hacer; siempre cuestionándonos y buscando nuevas cosas, tratando de, sobre todo, apoyar a nuevas voces, nuevos directores y películas de bajo presupuesto. "Ambulante va increíble, y Canana está a punto de sacar varias películas; así que me llena de mucho orgullo tener este sueño tan guajiro que se convierte en realidad, y que quizá es el medio para que otros sueños guajiros se hagan realidad", dijo Gael. Acompañados por su equipo de trabajo, los actores de Y Tu Mamá También festejaron el jueves por la noche en el bar Pasaje América, ubicado en el centro de la Ciudad , haber logrado producir cintas como Cochochi, Déficit, El Violín, y el documental JC Chávez. El primero en arribar, 15 minutos después de las 23:00 horas, fue Diego, quien mientras convivía con algunos de los aproximadamente 200 invitados, aguardó a que después de la medianoche llegaran sus otros dos socios en Canana. "Estoy bien contento de ver que todavía nos queden ganas de festejar, y también muy ilusionado, porque esto es nada más el arranque. Siento que finalmente hemos armado una familia que nos va a durar para muy largos años", comentó el actor de El Búfalo de la Noche.
