What seems to be a pleasant family celebration turns into a night full of bitter revelations in “Festen”, the stage play where Diego Luna returns to Mexican stages. Diego Luna feels that the work is very intense: “Yes, it’s physically tough and simultaneously takes away a lot of the house (audience), because it is a wheel of fortune, where sometimes you are above and other times below and you live through it with the public and realize the reaction and that makes you grow a lot as an actor.”

Diego is one of the Mexican actors that have shined the most in national and international cinema. Nevertheless, he does not scorn doing a work for the Mexican public. “It is an honor for me to stop in a theater in Mexico because there is a level of attention that I am grateful for very much,” he mentioned.

“I do not think of myself as a movie actor. Basically I am very lucky to have lived through a moment where cinema has this attraction to the public that it didn’t have 10 years ago. What I’ve done more of is theatre. And what I’m going to continue doing is theatre, because it has taken me where I am,” he noted. He rejects that he is employed at acting for money: “I do not act for money; I work for pleasure and am lucky.” Diego’s friends came to the premiere of “Festen”, among them Paola Rojas, Cinthya Klitbo, Eugenio Derbez and Arturo Velasco.
