| Diego plays golf with Lorena Ochoa l 13 November 2008 |
The
presence of actor Diego Luna monopolized attention at the ProAm Golf
Tournament (the Lorena Ochoa Invitational) which started yesterday in
Guadalajara, and not because of Diego's golf playing talent. The actor played the first nine holes in
the group lead by Paula Creamer, but later joined Lorena Ochoa, the
number one [golfer] in the world, with whom he played another five
holes."I wanted to play 18 holes with Lorena. I would had loved it, but there was schedule confusion so I sorted it out by playing nine holes in the morning with Paola and managed four or five with Lorena. It was really incredible. Paola is a very interesting girl. I like her a lot, but it makes me sad to go because I had hoped to get to know Lorena, to chat with her and I will on another occasion," expressed Diego. The actor took with good humor the fact that it was not his best day on the range, where he showed a deficient swing and little precision with his putt. "I'm a big fan of golf, but privately. Yes, it's relaxing. The mind plays games, if you're thinking about something else it's evident in your swing, but I'm more a soccer player. I learned golf four years ago when I was filming in Canada. I did not grow up watching, nor playing golf. I don't think they'd seen me play and that's why they invited me. I don't think I'm bad, the numbers say it. What's horrible is to know that they see you and your hands start shaking. I like it more when I (and my handicap) come incognito. My personal challenge right now is playing with Lorena. I leave with no points in my favor because I've already had three glasses of whisky. That's my goal in the short term," said the actor when he began the round with Ochoa. During the tournament Diego also said that he feels anxious, nervous, worried, but especially thrilled that the play Good Canary, directed by American actor John Malkovich, will premiere in 14 more days. "We know the expectation that's been created, but I'm also calm because I know that theatre becomes a team and the team doing this work is impressive. I'm satisfied because I think we have done everything that we have to do." Translations
