Mi amiga saw Diego in the play Festen
again last night (Dec. 29, 2006) and this is her report of the evening.
(I'm seeing this play January 13 and will be sitting in the same seats Horte
sat in last night)! Gracias Horte!
"Ayer fui con mis amigos a ver nuevamente Festen. Amiga, elige el asiento 14 y procura no gritar cuando Diego mire de frente a ese lugar! Al final de la función, después de los aplausos y "Bravos" que le gritaron a Diego, Luis Rábago (uno de los actores) dijo que era un dia muy especial (unas chicas gritaron que era el cumpleaños de Diego) y pidió que le cantaramos las mañanitas, Diego grito muy apenado que no pero todos cantamos muy fuerte las mañanitas por su cumpleaños! El agradeció al final el cariño de la gente. Se aplaudió mucho al elenco de la obra, pero sobre todo a Diego. Él se lleva los mejores aplausos y muy merecidos por cierto, sin él, la obra perdería la mitad del interés."
Translation:
"Yesterday I went with my friends to see
Festen again. Friend, choose
seat 14 and try not to
shout when Diego looks straight ahead at this place! At the end of the
function, after the applauses
and "Bravos" that were shouted for Diego, Luis Rábago (one of the actors)
said that it was a very
special day (a few girls shouted that it was Diego's birthday) and he asked
us to sing to him. Diego,
very upset, shouted not to, but we all sang very loudly for his birthday!!!
At the end he thanked the
people for their affection. The cast (of the play) was very much applauded,
but especially Diego. He
takes the best applauses and surely much deserved, for without him the play
would lose half the interest."
