Diego Debuts as a Football Commentator

Mexican actor Diego Luna, one of the most recognized figures of Latin American cinema, debued today as a football [soccer] commentator, invited by Televisa channel in the Pumas- América match of the Clausura ’07 Mexican League tournament.
Luna, 27 years old, is a Pumas fan and this Sunday was a guest in the broadcast which alternated with the newscasters program.
“What a wish to go down to the field. I am careful not to shout, how you suffer,” exclaimed Luna, who did not worry about hiding his bias on behalf of the college students that tied 1-1 with his most hated rival.
Luna made comments about certain players, such as Cuauhtémoc Blanco, the worst enemy of the Pumas, and sometimes he was nervous, like in the 14th minute when Slavador Cabañas was close to scoring for América.
The Pumas scored in the 21st minute by means of Paraguayan Darío Verón, with assistance by the Brazilian Leandro, in which Luna forgot his role for a few moments. “Now yes I am going to go down, they forgive me,” he said happily for the advantage of his team that then lowered the rhythm and caught up.
With self confidence, Luna criticized the system of play by the Pumas coach Ricardo Ferretti, he suggested changes and praised the quality of Leandro, and he said goodbye with a critique to the excess of publicity in football.
“When you are at home and you see the match, you suffer if there
suddenly appears on the screen a commercial for baby diapers. They
must do something; the uniforms go up to five different brands of
products,” he mentioned.

El actor mexicano Diego Luna, una de las figuras más reconocidas del cine latinoamericano, debutó hoy como comentarista de futbol, invitado por el canal Televisa en el partido Pumas-América, del torneo Clausura'07 de la liga mexicana.
Luna, de 27 años, es hincha de los Pumas y este domingo fue el invitado en la transmisión, en la que alternó con los locutores de planta.
"Qué ganas de bajar al terreno, me estoy cuidando de no gritar, cómo se sufre", exclamó Luna, quien no se preocupó por esconder su parcialidad en favor de los universitarios, que empataron 1-1 con su rival más odiado.
Luna hizo comentarios sobre determinados jugadores como Cuauhtémoc Blanco, el peor enemigo de los Pumas, y en algunos momentos se en el minuto 14 cuando Salvador Cabañas estuvo cerca de anotar por América.
Los Pumas anotaron en el minuto 21 por intermedio del paraguayo Darío Verón en servicio del brasileño Leandro, lo cual hizo que Luna olvidara por unos instantes su papel. "Ahora sí voy a bajar, me disculpan", dijo feliz por la ventaja de su equipo que luego bajó el ritmo y fue alcanzado.
Con desparpajo, Luna criticó el sistema de juego del técnico de Pumas Ricardo Ferretti, sugirió cambios y elogió la calidad del brasileño Leandro, y se despidió con una crítica al exceso de publicidad en el futbol.
"Cuando estás en casa y ves el partido, se sufre si de pronto aparece en la pantalla un anuncio de pañales para bebés, algo deben hacer; los uniformes llevan hasta cinco marcas de productos diferentes", comentó.
