Diego says, "In the play we celebrate the silence and
absence of
honesty. We celebrate the distance among family, which is
terrible because as human
beings we prefer taking the holidays in peace before confronting
fears and problems."
In
the story Diego Luna plays Cristian, the younger
brother of a family that meets to celebrate the
60th
birthday of the patriarch, without suspecting
that something terrible and lamentable will happen.
The youngest
son decides to share a secret with the guests, little realizing
the effect this will have. So far, so normal. But
it is the execution of this story that is impressive. The story
of how people refuse to acknowledge parents abusing their
children, and how people will move with the crowd is portrayed
brilliantly.6
