Diego starts filming the movie Sólo Quiero Caminar l 27 February 2008
Dressed in gangster style of Quentin Tarantino, with a suit, black tie, white shirt, and with his hair perfectly combed back, Diego Luna filmed scenes of the movie Sólo Quiero Caminar on Tuesday in the Historic Center [of Mexico City].
The film, directed by Spaniard Agustín Díaz Yanes, which began shooting Monday, tells the story of three (female) Spanish assailants who plan to rob a Mexican bank, but in order to achieve their objective, they will have to face a pair of national gangsters, one of whom is played by Luna.
Although the actor will share credits with Victoria Abril, José María Yazpik, Adriana Gil and Elena Ayala, among others, the “charolastra” carried out only his scenes on this occasion, on Republic of Chile street.
“The trucks started coming at 9 in the morning, but Diego started working around 11:00 AM. First they were out here in the street. He was travelling a few meters and going into the building. They repeated that many times.
“They did not close the street, if nothing more they removed people ahead so that they didn’t block the camera. Of course people recognized him, but no more than a few girls approached him. And yes, he gave them his autograph, he was not clowning around. But they got it later,” reported a shop assistant bordering the place.
Already inside, Luna continued filming on the roof of the old building and in one of the small apartments, where he was repeatedly walking while the cameras were following his movements.
Finishing the shots, the actor waited for them to move the filming equipment, while he was smoking, drinking water and chatting with the producers of the movie, Pablo Cruz, and José Manuel Lorenzo.
After filming up to the dusk, the film maker said they were finished with the second day of shooting and Luna left the place.

Vestido al estilo de los gánsteres de Quentin Tarantino: con traje y corbata de color negro, camisa blanca, y con cabello perfectamente peinado hacia atrás, Diego Luna filmó el martes escenas de la película Sólo Quiero Caminar, en el Centro Histórico.
La cinta, dirigida por el español Agustín Díaz Yanes (Alatriste), y cuyo rodaje comenzó el lunes, cuenta la historia de tres asaltantes españolas que planean robar un banco mexicano, pero, para lograr su objetivo, tendrán que enfrentarse a un par de gánsteres nacionales, uno de ellos interpretado por Luna.
Aunque el actor compartirá créditos con Victoria Abril, José María Yazpik, Adriana Gil y Elena Ayala, entre otros, el “charolastra” realizó en esta ocasión sus escenas sólo, en la calle República de Chile.
“Los camiones empezaron a llegar como desde las 9 (de la mañana), pero Diego empezó a trabajar como a eso de las 11. Primero, estuvieron aquí afuera en la calle. él caminaba unos metros y se metía al edificio. Estuvieron repitiendo eso muchas veces.
“No cerraron la calle, nada más quitaban a la gente de frente para que no taparan a la cámara. La gente sí lo reconoció, pero nada más unas muchachas se le acercaron y sí, les dio unos autógrafos, no estaba de payaso. Pero ya después se metieron”, relató el dependiente de una tienda aledaña al lugar.
Ya dentro, Luna continuó filmando en la azotea del viejo edificio, y en uno de los pequeños departamentos, en el que una y otra vez caminaba mientras las cámaras seguían sus movimientos.
Terminadas las tomas, el actor esperaba a que movieran el equipo de filmación, mientras fumaba, tomaba agua y platicaba con los productores del filme, el mexicano Pablo Cruz, y el español José Manuel Lorenzo.
Tras filmar hasta el anochecer, el cineasta dio por terminado el segundo día de rodaje, y Luna dejó el lugar.
