The
movie Rudo y Cursi, starring Diego Luna and Gael García, concerns
the lives of two brothers that are members of an amateur football
(soccer) league hidden in a field in the Mexican Pacific. Gael and Diego
know what it’s like to play in a similar league, since they are also
part of the large Ajusco league.
Carlos Cuarón, the film’s director says, “They are very different players. In the movie Diego has a role of a goal keeper and Gael of a forward. In real life, Diego is a forward and Gael plays midfield and winger. Although when we have played against them they have played as above, exactly because we were on the verge of starting to film and wanted to start becoming accustomed.”
This movie will be released December 19 of this year in Mexico.
