Sleepless but happy at LALIFF l 17 September 2008

Diego LunaLos Angeles – Sleep deprived but happy, Diego Luna made his debut since becoming a dad along side his wife, actress Camila Sodi. Nevertheless, that has not prevented him from continuing to write a script which he hopes to direct next year, but he prefers not to reveal the details.

“My wife and son are beautiful: I am fulfilled!” said the actor before enjoying the special screening of his documentary JC Chávez exhibited at the Los Angeles International Latino Film Festival [on September 15, 2008].

Festival publicists asked the that the press not ask questions about Diego’s personal life, whereas the actor limited himself to saying phrases like  “we are happy” or “they are beautiful” when someone mentioned his wife and son. Nevertheless, he played down the importance of the harassment by the paparazzi at his house in LA.

The Mexican also responded to the ex-boxer Julio César Chávez, who recently declared that he has not received money from the profit of the documentary made by Luna.

“I have not spoken with him yet, but the documentary is not a business, it is a tool. I believe that Julio imagined that we were going to break the box office with this movie. When we make money with the DVD, he will be the first to have money,” he assured. “I’m also happy because on September 30 the DVD comes out in the United States. This pleases me because I know that it is going to reach people.”
