Fade to Black

Fade to black - a term used in cinema and television when the image goes to a black screen - is also the title of the new film written by Oliver Parker and John Sayles. Set in lively Rome, Italy, in 1948, the film describes the life of Orson Welles as he tries to recover his frustrated marriage with actress Rita Hayworth by starting his career again. Far from finding peace, he comes across a series of dangerous intrigues and police pursuits, after which an actor is murdered on his film set and he falls in love with Lea Padovani.

Diego Luna will take part in Fade to Black, as Welles' Italian chauffeur, Tomasso, and will be accompanied by a cast of international stars such as Paz Vega, Christopher Walken, and Anna Galiena.

On his experience in the movie Fade to Black, Luna showed that it was a big honor for him that they thought about him for this shooting, since “for anyone that does cinema, Orson Welles is an example to follow”.  He explained that the actor “Danny Huston polished up this character, since he did it in an extraordinary way. There was great chemistry between Danny and myself. This movie is a thriller, since he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a murder.  The story addresses the working relationship and friendship that these two men had.” The film was shot in Serbia, Italy and the Isle of Man.
