Diego to Direct Again l 24 January 2009
Diego LunaDiego Luna will continue his career as a film director. Now he has the mission of finding a child for the lead role. It’s about a story that might film this summer.

“It’s one that I’m still writing. I am in the last rewrite. I can’t say much. It’s fiction, the story of a child. I’m trying to find space in the year because I want to do it,” he said.

Luna released the documentary JC Chávez as producer-director that during it’s commercial run was seen by close to 80 thousand people.

For now his career as an actor is going well. Next Sunday (January 25) he will travel to Los Angeles for the annual Screen Actors Guild awards, where the full-length film Milk is nominated. So on this day there will not be any performances of the play The Good Canary in which he participates.

“Fortunately when they warned us (about the nomination) we had not sold too many tickets… but we will restore the play on Tuesday. So the following week we will be seven consecutive days with the play, before going away on tour through the Republic (aka 'the rest of Mexico'),” he indicated.

In Milk, Luna plays a homosexual. It was directed by Gus Van Sant and he shared the set with Sean Penn. The movie has received 8 Oscar nominations, including Best Movie and Best Actor (Sean Penn).

“It’s a film about a character who understood that in life he had to respect, allow and allow others to be,” said Luna.
