Luna Laments the Press l March 21 2009
Diego LunaGuadalajara, Jalisco - Mexican actor Diego Luna said that it saddens him that the attention of the press has turned towards banal events and not to what he does for national cinema.

Luna was present on the day before the gala of Sólo quiero caminar, by Agustín Díaz Yanes, in which he takes part together with José María Yazpik and Victoria Abril, the movie that opened the charitable gala of the 24th International Guadalajara Film Festival.

Having asked him what he might say about a few photographs that were recently published in some newspapers where he seams to be very friendly with a girl in a bar in Monterrey, he said he is disconcerted.

"Normally the gossip magazines take advantage to spread these notes, but now the newspapers have joined the current," pointed out the actor.

Luna cannot conceive how it is that now some national newspapers have joined the gossip magazines and that instead of reporting, according to him, what is happening in the country, let the the spectacle of "gossip" fly.

"It seems to me that the people in Mexico deserve something better than filling up with celebrity gossip."

Diego Luna was one of the personalities present at the screening of Sólo quiero caminar and later carried out the delivery of the Guadalajara Award to Gael García. He added that he's proud of the tribute and the recognition given to this good buddy, "who I always want and go and hug."
