Luna in
talks to join Elysium

Elysium is set to star
Matt Damon,
Jodie Foster,
and
Diego Luna as humans fighting angry
aliens on Earth. Written and directed by
District 9
mastermind Neil
Blomkamp, it's already generating tons of buzz
and is apparently so large-scale that it will take two
years to make. [Production
is set to get underway this summer with the film bowing
on March 1, 2013.]
Little is known about the secretive Elysium plot other than that Damon will be battling the alien invaders and Luna will be playing his best friend [Julio]. Interestingly, Diego will not be the film's only Latino headliner, Brazilian star Wagner Moura has been confirmed as Elysium's main villain.
South-African director Blomkamp received tons of acclaim for 2009's highly-original District 9 and this follow up project promises to be just as interesting. All Neil has revealed thus far is that Elysium will be "totally original," "very violent," and "very unique."
