“Snowy year, great year”
For Diego Luna the worst moment is over: his first job as director of a non-documentary movie, “Abel”, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Despite the smiles on the red carpet and the unconditional support of his wife, Camila Sodi, pregnant with their second baby, Diego Luna nervously awaited the verdict of the people who got to see the world premiere of "Abel" in Park City (Utah). And the audience didn’t make his suffering last long: as the movie ended, and the credits were rolling up on the screen, the audience’s strong applause could be heard, in a celebration of Diego Luna’s particular view on childhood. The actor and director, who have just turned thirty, looks back on his life, on the child that he was in an adult’s world: “It has to do with me. I began to work when I was six years old. I have always been surrounded by many adults, and somehow, I’m the positive part of the story, because I knew how to use that experience for the better and to grow”. To direct kids, Diego Luna used his experience as a child actor and as a father; during the shootings, he was always suggesting games to the kids and the other actors, such as José Maria Yazpik and Karina Gidi, in order to relieve the stress.

With the premiere of “Abel”, Diego Luna takes another step on his unstoppable artistic career thanks to his work as a director on this movie, which was described by him as “very personal”. And in a such crucial moment of his life, his wife, Camila Sodi, an actress who decided to be temporarily off the screen to dedicate her body and soul to son Jerónimo and to the new baby that is on the way, could not be absent. The couple didn’t say anything about their new baby’s gender, but there are already some people assuring that is going to be a girl. Camila Sodi posed with Diego on the red carpet and also attended the party in honor to “Abel”, a project in which he has worked for many years. “I lost my hair, I didn’t sleep, but I enjoyed a lot, because we worked so hard on it”. Proud of his professional career, as well as of the beautiful family he is making with Camila, for whom he fell in love during the filming of “El búfalo de la noche”, the actor could unleash the child within to celebrate his success, another one in his long career.
